UAL - Level 3 PaPA - Acting Pathway - Unit 5 - 6 Wednesday, 10th January 2018 I live here. I live here.     You can't see that though. You cant see it. This is where I live. Here. When we were first shown this, we were asked to think about what it could mean, who is saying this, what could they mean, who are they trying to convince, are they actually trying to convince themselves? Well, the first thing I began to think was that it could be a metaphor rather than just referring to something literally. Paired with a classmate we both had our own ideas, one being an aspiring actor (no pun intended) who has a lovely framed picture of their dream house. They would declare this is where they live even though they clearly do not live there yet which shows the confidence this character has within themselves that they will one day live in this home. This was my class mate's insight which we agreed was a good idea, however, we also agree it wouldn't be clear enough a...

Three Sisters - background

What is the general plot of Three Sisters Why are the women unfaithful and in control of relationships The character I've been cast as is Masha in Act 2. What does Masha think of everyone?  I believe that Masha sees her town as a trap or a rat cage, I've understood this is because a majority of the people there don't change in the sense of their mindset; They don't look beyond what they already know. That's why in (Act 1 she sings David Bowie's 'Golden years' which ' Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere Masha is hungry for culture and for knowledge, where many people are afraid of the unknown she is drawn to it, however, she isn't finding any answers in her town. (Act 2 'we have to believe in something'....). She falls in love with Vershinin because he also sees the way life is there; it is a mad cycle that shouldn't be accepted, (Act 2 ' We hate our wives...'). Back to the point,  he confi...

Born in 1863 and passed away August 1938, but in between these important dates, he was able to achieve many 'things', which have led him to change the world of acting forever. Stanislavski was actually a stage name to keep his performance activities a secret from his parents, his family name was Alexeiev( His real name was Konstantin Alexeiev), which belongs to one of the richest families in Russia. However, it wasn't all bad as he was able to use the money to his advantage to fund his experiments in acting and directing. After his debut performance in 1877, his father gave him his approval he began to write detailed observations on his acting, aphorisms and problems. This is how his system came about and how he was able to truly transform himself into an established figure. He wrote major texts from  observ...
